WKO Shinkyokushinkai Bangladesh Summer Camp 2025: A New Milestone for Kyokushin in Bangladesh

Cox’s Bazar | 11–13 July 2025
Organized by: KO Fight Studio

The WKO Shinkyokushinkai Bangladesh Summer Camp 2025 was held from 11 to 13 July in the coastal city of Cox’s Bazar. Organized by KO Fight Studio, this year’s edition marked the largest national Kyokushin summer camp ever held in Bangladesh, with a total of 49 participants, including over 42 students and instructors, special guests, and support staff.

Now in its fourth year since its inception in 2022, the annual summer camp has grown into a flagship event for WKO Bangladesh. Participants from both the Gulshan and Dhanmondi Dojo of KO Fight Studio joined forces to train, learn, and grow together in the true spirit of Kyokushin Karate.

The camp’s training curriculum was structured to meet international standards, focusing on the core disciplines of Kyokushin: Kihon (basics), Eido (movement), Kata (forms), and Kumite (sparring). Each day began with dawn Zen meditation, followed by a 5 km run and high-intensity beach training. Morning kata sessions took place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by afternoon beach conditioning starting at 3:00 p.m., after a 2 km walk, and ending at sunset with powerful group sessions.

To strengthen the bond between members and foster a sense of unity and motivation, the camp also featured a variety of team-building games such as Keiba, sumo wrestling, human chain races, star games, and low kick challenges. These moments of play and teamwork brought additional energy and joy to the rigorous schedule.

The 2025 camp also stood out for its inclusive participation, welcoming women and children alongside adult karateka, reinforcing the community-driven values of WKO.

The camp concluded with a Sayonara Dinner, where Shihan Abdullah Mohammad Hossain delivered an inspirational speech, highlighting the achievements of the camp, encouraging continued discipline, and calling on all students to carry the Kyokushin spirit forward in their personal lives and dojo practice.

This camp not only reinforced technical excellence and physical resilience, but also stood as a symbol of how far the Kyokushin movement has come in Bangladesh. With each passing year, WKO Shinkyokushinkai Bangladesh continues to set a higher standard—both on the tatami and off.

WKO Bangladesh Summer Camp 2025 Announced

The spirit of Osu returns to the shores of Cox’s Bazar this July as WKO Shinkyokushinkai Bangladesh proudly announces its upcoming Summer Camp 2025, to be held from July 11 to 13 at Maui Resort, Himchari.

Led by Shihan Abdullah Mohammad Hossain, 5th Dan Black Belt, Country Representative and Branch Chief of WKO Bangladesh, this annual camp is one of the most anticipated events in the Kyokushin calendar. With a strong emphasis on traditional training, discipline, and spiritual development, the Summer Camp reflects the true essence of Kyokushin karate.

This year, around 40 dedicated members from dojos across Bangladesh are preparing to take part in the intensive 3-day camp. The team will depart Dhaka on the night of July 10 and return on the morning of July 14, marking four days of camaraderie, challenge, and focused training.

From early morning sessions on the beach to partner drills, kumite, and deep kihon practice under the open sky, each day of the camp will push participants beyond their physical and mental limits. Beyond the training, the camp is also about living the Kyokushin way — humility, perseverance, and mutual respect.

We look forward to welcoming our members to this year’s camp and witnessing once again the strength, unity, and discipline that define our Kyokushin community.

Organized by KO Fight Studio and conducted by Shihan Abdullah Mohammad Hossain, the camp was a memorable experience despite the rainy weather, highlighting the resilience and dedication of our karatekas.

A Challenging Yet Beautiful Location

Himchhari, with its stunning coastal views and lush landscapes, set the stage for this year’s summer camp. Heavy rains added a unique challenge, transforming the camp into a test of adaptability and perseverance. Yet, the natural beauty of the area continued to shine through, adding a layer of serenity to the intense training sessions.

Intensive Training Sessions

Rain or shine, the training continued with unwavering intensity. The camp included:

  • Kihon (Basics): Focused practice on fundamental techniques, ensuring that each participant honed their precision and form despite the weather.
  • Kata (Forms): In-depth training on traditional kata, with instructors guiding students through techniques under challenging conditions.

Rainy Day Summer Camp 2023 in the longest Beach

World Karate Organization Shinkyokushinkai Bangladesh successfully concluded its Summer Camp 2023 at the Maui Resort in Cox’s Bazar from July 14 to 16, 2023.

Members of WKO Bangladesh and KO Fight Studio, from both Gulshan and Dhanmondi dojo, attended the three-day training camp led by Shihan Abdullah Mohammad Hossain, the country representative and branch chief of the organization.

WKO Shinkyokushin Bangladesh holds two camps every year, winter and summer, which are integral parts of Kyokushin training. The organization did its best to make the camp as colorful as possible, providing something for everyone.

Three days of camp consisted of 3 sessions a day, including running, physical fitness, endurance, basics of Kyokushin, Kata, fights, and multiple training to break the mental and stereotypical blocks.

The first two trainings included kihon, ido, kumite technique, and kata; the afternoon training was kumite-based, except for the group preparing for the grading at the end of the camp. The training led by Shihan Abdullah lifted the spirit and motivation of all the participants, no matter their age or grade.

During the whole camp, the participants were split into several groups. The participants in the kumite training had the unique chance to practice kumite in depth.

Traditionally, the last night finished with the Sayonara dinner party, where all the participants in the camp found new friends and had fun.

However, before that, he made everyone show their spirit and left them with good memories in the form of muscle fever.
